McDonalds Air and Sea Show 2007

One of the world’s largest spectator events, this two-day extravaganza on Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th, features top military and civilian performances along four miles of beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach.

According to military and city estimates, the show draws millions of people each year. This world-class event is part of the McDonald’s® National Salute to America’s Heroes, and is the kick-off for National Military Appreciation Month observed each May.

The National Salute also includes Fleet Week USA presented by McDonald’s, which brings several Navy ships and thousands of sailors to Fort Lauderdale, and the Super Boat Grand Prix, high-powered speed boats racing for the national US championship.

Las Olas Outdoor Gourmet Market

Las Olas Outdoor Gourmet Market returns for 2007!

The extraordinary success of the Las Olas Outdoor Gourmet Market exceeded the most optimistic hopes of organizers last year. In fact, the outdoor market, located initially in the parking lot of The Las Olas Chemist at 1201 E. Las Olas, grew more popular each month.

Braving the winter cold of South Florida (or maybe not!) the Outdoor Gourmet Market returns in February with an expanded schedule of twice a month, the 2nd and 4th Sundays. The 2nd Sunday’s location (February 11th, March 11th, April 8th) will be at the Las Olas Chemist Shop and the 4th Sunday’s (February 25th, March 25th, April 22nd) will take place in the parking lot between Mediterranean Market and Rino’s Tuscan Grill, at 1101 East Las Olas.

"The Outdoor Gourmet Market is an example of the pro-active efforts of the Las Olas Association and its members in enhancing the "Las Olas Experience" with new events to complement the many events that have become cherished Fort Lauderdale traditions," enthused Tony Beall, Executive Director of the Las Olas Association. Some of those cherished events include Christmas on Las Olas, the Las Olas Wine & Food Festival, Clueless on Las Olas and the Las Olas Art Fairs. Tony also noted that the monthly Market is made possible in part through the generous support of the Las Olas Company.

Visitors to the Outdoor Urban Market, taking place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., will find farm fresh fruits and vegetables, culinary herbs, tropical plants and orchids, fresh baked breads and pastries. Local honey, handmade soaps and wonderful market baskets to carry your selection of goodies home will also be part of the experience.
