Virginia Schuman Young Montessori Magnet Elementary School’s mission
statement: To prepare children for lifelong learning by providing an
innovative and quality educational experience based on the
philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori approach provides
students the opportunity to make responsible learning choices in a
student centered environment that abides by State and National
Standards within the context of a material rich environment, where
hands-on, active learning is the norm. The purpose of this project
is to build the feeling of community in recognizing a community need
and contributing to that need.
