Your adventure begins at the Museum of Discovery and Science with a fascinating presentation and then continues at Fort Lauderdale Beach where expert guides will lead you to sea turtle nesting grounds. Slide off your shoes and slip into the weekend every Friday night as Friday Night Sound Waves returns for its 6th season this summer and fall. The free live music series, presented by the Fort Lauderdale Beach business community [City of Fort Lauderdale BID] welcomes area locals and global visitors, the young and the young at heart to enjoy some of South Florida and the region’s best musical talents, performing an eclectic range of genres. Slipping into an air-conditioned museum is the perfect thing to do on a hot summer day and NSU Museum of Art is the perfect place to do it. For free admission for Neighbor Days, residents must show a photo ID, driver’s license or residential utility bill with proof of Fort Lauderdale address. Set along the banks of the New River under the shade of historic live oaks, this market features farm-fresh vegetables, handmade products, homemade baked goods, and specialty plants including orchids and succulents. Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi is one of the most popular and enjoyable means of transportation in our city. There is no better way to enjoy the “Venice of America” than by your own waterborne trolley.
