55th Annual Christmas on Las Olas Presented by Breakthru Beverage lights the way for holiday giving with exciting NEW holiday fireworks display!

“For the past five+ decades, Christmas on Las Olas has been a much-anticipated holiday celebration for locals and visitors alike. We have truly outdone ourselves this year!,” said Luke Moorman, President of the Las Olas Association, “There are so many things going on, our 55,000 guests will definitely be able to get into the holiday spirit. It’s a magical evening for everyone, including children of all ages.’”

For its 9th Year, Title Sponsor Breakthru Beverage Florida is encouraging everyone to “be merry but drink responsibly” as we usher in another holiday season filled with spirits and good cheer.  The powerhouse Breakthru Beverage is excited to be part of this wonderful event and Company finds a huge platform value in this gift give back to the community with the largest outdoor free event in South Florida. “The holiday season is typically filled with extra celebrations and we want to ensure that everyone enjoys the season in a responsible manner. Christmas on Las Olas consistently delivers this platform in a fun and exciting venue!” said Katie Leibick, Director of Special Events for Breakthru Beverage Florida.

The 55th Annual Christmas on Las Olas will take place on Tuesday, November 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. between SE 6th Avenue and SE 11th Avenue and is free and open to the public. A centerpiece of the evening are the four performance stages with non-stop family entertainment, featuring more than 35 local choirs and performances from schools and churches that fill the air with the sounds of the holidays.

“Guests will rub elbows with community leaders, generations of neighbors, friends and families as we transform the world-famous downtown Fort Lauderdale corridor into an urban winter wonderland for the 55th year!,” enthused Amber VanBuren, Executive Director of LOA. “We’ve added some exciting new components, particularly ‘Las Olas Lights The Way For Holiday Giving’ with a dazzling fireworks display set to the music of the Tran-Siberian Orchestra which will be broadcast from all three stages simultaneously.” Live Nation, a longtime supporter of Christmas on Las Olas, is promoting the Tran-Siberian Orchestra performance for December 15th at the BBT Center in Sunrise, FL.

“A Few of our “Favorite Things” is the Coral Springs Auto Mall Movie Magic area showing the super-popular “Frozen”! “We know this will be a BIG HIT with the kiddos!,” said Nicole Roman from returning sponsor Coral Springs Auto Mall. “We made the selection and it truly fits our winter theme.”

The children’s fun zone area, also known at One Beat CPR’s Enchanted Village, has been relocated to the intersection of Las Olas & 8th Ave. This section will include the 8th Ave Performance Stage, along with winter-themed bounce houses and free holiday activities for kids to enjoy while learning the value of life-saving CPR. One Beat CPR’s Enchanted Village will also feature photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus stationed at the new Las Olas Company retail building.

The Anidjar & Levine P.A. Snow Mountain located at Las Olas & SE 9th Ave. is still the number one attraction, of course, where boys and girl of all ages enjoy a 70-ft. sled ride down REAL snow. In addition to the REAL snow on snow mountain, snow will fall from the sky with TWO snow machines stationed high above the buildings over the 9th Ave intersection. The Anidjar & Levine law firm raises thousands of dollars with Snow Mountain each year benefiting the families of fallen law enforcement officers. The firm serves clients throughout Florida in a variety of matters including personal injury law, criminal defense, Social Security disability claims, and property litigation.

Benedetti Orthodontics 6th Avenue performance stage and Truly Nolen 10th Terrace performance stages will incorporate the sights and sounds of the season with local school and church choirs. Brad and Ana Benedetti are also longtime supporters of the event and the Fort Lauderdale community in general.

The Las Olas Association will be handing out free snowflake glows sticks and guests can register to win a beautiful set of diamond earrings from Carroll’s Jewelers. Diamonds always make for a happy holiday!

New sponsor eTags.com will showcase a double-decker holiday bus featuring a spectacular laser light show on the east end in front of Louie Bossi. eTags.com is national vehicle registration company taking the headaches out of a DMV experience for its clients.

New Radio Sponsors iHeart Radio will have radio personalities from BIG 105.9, Y100, 93.9MIA on all three large performance stages with free giveaways throughout the evening from their mobile broadcast vehicles.

Christmas on Las Olas also marks the kick-off of the holiday shopping season and with nearly one hundred shops including boutiques and art galleries, as well as dozens of restaurants and bistros that offer gift certificates, Las Olas offers gift items sure to please anyone.

Each year, LOA also invites non-profits to participate and this year is no exception. Those returning include: Jessica June Children’s Foundation, Florida Children’s Theater, Museum of Discovery and Science, Junior Achievement, Salvation Army and Miami City Ballet. “Christmas on Las Olas is a huge fundraiser for our organization and the bell ringers enjoy meeting their friends and neighbors” said Gregory Jackson, Special Events Coordinator for Salvation Arm of Broward. The weather report for November 28th is truly 100% chance for a snow storm of philanthropy descending upon Las Olas Boulevard.
