European owners, Dirk De Cuyper & Allison Morgan, founded Eten Food Co. in 2010. Allison is British and Dirk is from Belgium. Eten means “Food” or “To Eat” in Flemish, one of the languages spoken in Belgium.
They based Eten on a European Traiteur, which literally translates as “caterer.” In Belgium, a traiteur store offers a daily showcase of their chef-prepared foods, in addition to catering services. Taking this concept of showcasing your food, Eten’s owners created a daily Chef’s Case and added a To-Go Menu of artisanal sandwiches and salads.
Since 2010, ETEN European Catering and Gourmet To Go services have grown into full-service event planning & production.
Prior to starting the business, Dirk & Allison spent many years catering onboard luxury yachts offering a very high level of food & service to their clients and onboard guests. Their years catering on world class yachts gives them the unique skill set to meet the exacting standards of the many catering clients they work with today.
