8 Things To Do On Las Olas This Summer


This summer is a time to get back out there and enjoy the amazingly diverse collection of restaurants, cafes, shops, and galleries that make up our world-famous Las Olas Boulevard.

It’s an ever-evolving mix of dining, shopping, entertainment and attractions to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Here are a few suggestions to work into your Summer ‘To Do’ list.

SHOP, DINE & STROLL THE BOULEVARD

You’ll find five distinct areas of the Boulevard to explore that each have their own flavor and identity: Downtown; The Shops District; Colee Hammock neighborhood district; the fabulous Las Olas Isles residential district; and the Las Olas Beach district. RIVERFRONT GONDOLA TOUR

Explore the canals of the “Venice of America” on a super comfortable Americangondola. Sightseeing at its’ best! All of thegondolas are electric. Super quiet. No fumes. No vibrations. MOONLIGHT SEA TURTLE WALKS

Your adventure begins at the Museum of Discovery and Science with a fascinating presentation and then continues at Fort Lauderdale Beach where expert guides will lead you to sea turtle nesting grounds. Participants must be at least 9 years old, arrange for your own transportation and be prepared to walk 1–2 miles in the sand. From 8:00 pm to 1:00 am on June 8, 10, 15, 17, 24, 29. FRIDAY NIGHT SOUND WAVES

Slide off your shoes and slip into the weekend every Friday night as Friday Night Sound Waves returns for its 6th season this summer and fall. The free live music series, presented by the Fort Lauderdale Beach business community [City of Fort Lauderdale BID] welcomes area locals and global visitors, the young and the young at heart to enjoy some of South Florida and the region’s best musical talents, performing an eclectic range of genres. NSU MUSEUM OF ART FORT LAUDERDALE

Slipping into an air-conditioned museum is the perfect thing to do on a hot summer day and NSU Museum of Art is the perfect place to do it. For free admission for Neighbor Days, residents must show a photo ID, driver’s license or residential utility bill with proof of Fort Lauderdale address. NEW RIVER INN OPEN-AIR MARKET
