Recognized as a one of the most anticipated wine and culinary events of the year, the American Lung Association’s 20th Annual Las Olas Wine and Food Festival which returns May 1, 2015 on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Presented by Bombay Sapphire ® Gin, New Amsterdam Vodka, Dark Horse Wine and Premier Beverage, this year’s event features a revamped VIP Party, exciting new restaurants and a variety of on-site events guaranteed to elevate the Festival experience. All proceeds from the Festival benefit the American Lung Association in Florida.

Luke Moorman, President of the Las Olas Association echoed Bob Drinon’s comments, noting that the Wine & Food Festival is “… another example of how we partner with non-profits to bring exciting special events to the Boulevard that visitors and locals enjoy, which in turn helps to remind people of our unique and exceptional shopping and dining destination.” Luke also acknowledged the untiring work of LOA’s Executive Director, Amber VanBuren and the Board of Directors.

Held on Friday May 1st from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. on Las Olas Boulevard, between S.E. 6th Avenue and S.E. 11th Avenue, the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival encompasses four city blocks of food, wine and fun! This year, the street festival will feature more than 70 of South Florida’s finest restaurants and more than 45 wine tables.

“The Las Olas Wine & Food Festival has become one of the most high-profile and eagerly anticipated charity events in South Florida, and has helped raise hundreds of thousands for critical local and national lung health programs,” said Cariann Moore, area director of the American Lung Association in Florida. “Proceeds raised help save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through our education, advocacy and research efforts.”

The event will begin with a grand opening at the Main Stage, complete with ceremonial bottle sabering. Music will be provided by Easy 93.1 to start the party and will end with great tunes from HITS 97.3.

Back by popular demand, Bombay Sapphire® Gin lounge will transport attendees into a trendy and chic atmosphere for the ultimate cocktail experience. New Amsterdam’s Lounge, located on 8th and Las Olas Boulevard, will feature their signature cocktail, The Mule, and will be a space for festival goers to enjoy cocktails and a good time. Another can’t miss onsite event is the Couture Fashion Show by the Fashion Honors Group of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

Also, new to this year’s event is something special for beer drinkers: the Beer Garden Sponsored by American Social. The Beer Garden has been designed to feature up to 10+ styles of beers by 5 different brands. The brands involved are: Samuel Adams, Concrete Beach, Lagunitas, Harpoon and Sierra Nevada.
